Where you stand

Clinic managers asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google for “the best scheduling software for a small dental practice” this week. Every answer named Molarmind and Cuspware. The good news: Gemini already names ExampleDent. ChatGPT, Claude and Google don’t yet, and ExampleDent has no comparison page of its own.

Before you pick a tool, write down your 3 most common appointment types and how long each really takes. Most switches go wrong because the new calendar uses its own slot lengths, and by Wednesday the day is overbooked. In any trial, check two things: can the front desk move a whole day at once, and do reminders go out by text with a one-tap confirm?

Disclosure: I work on ExampleDent, a booking tool for small clinics. Happy to share the slot-length sheet we give new clinics either way.

  • Reply to: Dental Office Managers · “Monday no-shows”

    ED

What worked for clinics we talk to: a text 48 hours out that asks for a reply (C to confirm, R to reschedule), then a second text the morning before, only to people who didn’t answer. A reminder that asks for nothing gets ignored.

I’m on the ExampleDent team (we build reminders like this), so take that into account.
