How we calculated this
We took the work behind our 2,750 visitors in 8 weeks and divided it by those visitors. That gives the work per visitor. Then we multiply by your number:
work a month = (our count ÷ 2,750) × your visitors a month
hours = work × time each, by hand, + 20% for research and switching apps
| Work | Ours | Per 100 visitors | By hand, each |
|---|---|---|---|
| Comments and replies | 11,832 | 430.3 | 12 min |
| Social posts | 1,140 | 41.5 | 45 min |
| Reels and short videos | 100 | 3.6 | 4 h |
| Articles, blogs and guides | 532 | 19.3 | 5 h |
| Personal reports for prospects | 175 | 6.4 | 1.5 h |
| Emails | 12,352 | 449.2 | not counted |
Our own 8 weeks, done by hand, come to about 6,544 hours. Doing it yourself adds 20% for research and switching between apps. We don’t count any hours for emails, so the real number is higher.
The times are for a skilled person doing it by hand, including reading each thread, but not searching for the threads to reply to. Hiring costs use US freelance rates: community manager $40/h, social media manager $50/h, video editor $60/h, SEO writer $75/h, researcher $50/h.
Our visitor targets are goals, not promises. What this can’t tell you: 3 in 4 of our visitors came straight to our site, so we can’t tell which channel sent which visitor. This is one number for all the work together. Your market may be faster or slower. Use it to see the size of the job, not as a plan.
