Self-promotion rules

Self-promotion rules are community rules that limit how and how often you may post about your own product.

Many subreddits, Facebook groups, Slack groups and forums have them. Some ban links to your product. Some allow them only in one weekly thread. Moderators remove posts that break the rules and can ban your account. Hacker News has its own rules for Show HN posts.

Read the rules of each group before you post, and follow them exactly. Spend most of your time answering questions with no link at all. Mention your product only where the rules allow it and it truly answers the question. That is how you promote on Reddit without getting bannedsoon.
