Follow-up

A follow-up is a second or later message to someone who has not answered yet.

Many replies come from follow-ups, not the first message, so they lift your reply rate. People are busy, miss emails or mean to answer later. A good follow-up is short, adds one new thing like a useful link or a question, and does not make the person feel guilty.

Follow up with every person, up to 3 times, until they answer. Space them a few days apart, in the same email thread. Track who needs one in your CRM or sales pipeline. The same rule works after a discovery call. Follow up on each cold emailsoon the same way.
